We are proud to offer this new Defib Friendly Community Approval for organisations striving for excellence in terms of their defibrillator provision and associated arrangements.
The Standard is accredited by the Heartbeat Trust UK a registered charity championing defibrillator provision across the UK. The standard has been developed through the associated Defib Friendly Forum involving industry experts and service users.
This new Standard is designed to provide guidance as to what is “best practice” without making it prescriptive, mandatory, or restrictive. Through formal recognition, organisations and communities can demonstrate their commitment to becoming “Defib-friendly” with regards to the strategic placement of 24-hour publicly accessible defibrillators, their easy discovery, and the action taken to improve by-stander involvement and greater public confidence.
Eligible organisation should contact enquiries@pqscheme.com for an application to be initiated.
Once your organisation is confirmed as eligible for this community approval, the assessment will be initiated on your behalf. You will then have access to the PQS portal to review and answer the various questions and uploading any documentary evidence requested.
An extensive set of FREE resources (including guidance and templates) are available in the PQS portal to assist with the establishment of your Defib Friendly Community arrangements.
There is no time limit to submit the assessment and applicants are encouraged to use the FREE resources and submit when ready.
