SSIP Health & Safety Approval
How much does PQS SSIP Health & Safety Approval cost?
Our pricing model is based on the number of personnel and do not include any additional membership fees:
- £99 plus VAT - 1 Personnel
- £119 plus VAT - 2-4 Personnel
- £149 plus VAT - 5+ Personnel
How long is approval?
PQS SSIP Health & Safety Approval is valid for 1 year from the date the assessment is passed.
What are the key areas of assessment?
The assessment is based on the SSIP Core Criteria.
How quickly can my submission be assessed?
Once you submit your assessment, an assessor will be assigned and will typically review within 4 days. We also have a 24 and 48 hour fast track option for an additional cost.
Is there a pass or fail?
If the assessment criteria is not fully met, the assessor will request additional information. Please note that your submission will not be marked as a fail solely due to multiple resubmissions or delays in returning the assessment.
Are there any hidden fees?
No. You pay for an annual assessment, which becomes valid from the date you successfully complete the assessment. There are no additional membership fees. As we do not engage in active advertising, we are able to maintain competitive pricing.
What happens at renewal?
You will be reminded of your renewal and have the choice to renew with the PQS Pre-Qualification-Scheme™ or let your approval expire. You are not tied to PQS and are free to make a value judgement during the renewal process. At renewal, you simply purchase another assessment for the normal advertised fee.

Can I apply for multi categories across the United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland?
Yes. There is no additional cost if you select multiple categories. PQS is approved to provide SSIP services for all duty holder categories across the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland.
Does PQS accept certificates of other SSIP Schemes?
Yes. If you have a valid SSIP certificate you can apply via the deem to satisfy process for a fee of £49 + VAT.
Mutual Recognition
Will I need to be re-assessed if I have an existing equivalent certificate?
PQS is committed to mutual recognition. For example, if you have a valid SSIP certificate you will not need to be re-assessed. Simply, apply via the deem to satisfy route and upload your certificate.
Is constructionline recognised?
Constructionline membership on its own is not a recognised equivalent assessment.
Sector Specific
Is PQS applicable to non construction companies?
Yes, the question set is adapted for non construction and responses proportional to sector activities. We have consultants, cleaners, trainers, and many other non construction companies.
Is PQS applicable to construction contractors and principal contractors?
Yes, the question set is adapted and responses proportional to work activities.
Is PQS applicable to Designers and Principal designers?
Yes, the question set is adapted and includes specialist questions.
Safe Carriage Approval
Why would I need PQS Safe Carriage Approval?
Whilst PQS SSIP Health & Safety Approval may be appropriate for many organisations, others may be required by their licensing departments to gain the enhanced Safe Carriage Approval, or choose to gain the approval as a demonstrate of commitment.
Can I apply only for PQS Safe Carriage Approval?
Yes, this is available as a stand alone module. Please select the “Passenger Road Transport” category when applying.
How long do I have to submit the assessment
You have 12 months to submit the assessment once purchased. This ensures historical purchases are always to the most recent assessment version.
How long is approval?
PQS Safe Carriage Approval is for 1 year from the date both modules are passed.
Will I have an option to address any gaps identified?
Yes, the assessor will simply return the assessment for further information, specifying the areas that require action.
What happens if I cannot fulfil the enhanced Safe Carriage requirements?
In the event of such a scenario, we can switch you to the stand alone SSIP Health & Safety Approval module.
Modern Slavery Standard
When should I apply for PQS Modern Slavery approval?
We recommend you apply at an early stage. This will allow you to get familiar with the assessment standard and access the FREE resources within the PQS portal.
How long do I have to submit the assessment?

Defib Friendly Community Approval
How do I apply for Defib Friendly Community Approval?

Who is eligible?
The Defib Friendly Community Approval is only available on request for eligible organisations, typically councils and other community groups.
When should I apply for Defib Friendly Community approval?
We recommend you apply at an early stage. This will allow you to get familiar with the assessment standard and access the FREE resources within the PQS portal. You can submit when you are ready?
How long is approval?
Defib Friendly Community approval is for 3 years from the date the assessment is passed.
How long do I have to submit the assessment?
You have 12 months to submit the assessment once purchased. This ensures historical purchases are always to the most recent assessment version. It is expected you will already be working through the Community Approval Standard in advance of purchasing the assessment.
Will I have an option to address any gaps identified?

Defib Friendly Employer Approval
