Action to increase disabled people’s independence, reduce hate crime and improve diversity on public sector boards are just some of the achievements outlined in the Welsh Government’s Equality Annual Report 2012/13 published today.
The report highlights action taken to promote equal opportunities and tackle barriers to social justice. It looks at such things as improving childcare access, helping disabled people live independently, reducing violence against women and supporting young people into work.
It is the first year the Government has reported on progress against its eight equality objectives. These are outlined in our Strategic Equality Plan, which was published in 2012 following public engagement.
